The third trimester sleeplessness and exhaustion has definitely set in. Not to whine, but I’ve been waking up more throughout the night and struggling to fall back asleep. It hasn’t been terrible…just enough to cause extra tiredness throughout the day. I just like to think of it as a blessing, in that it’s preparing me for sleepless nights with the baby.
The nursery furniture came this week and we put it together. We got a three drawer changing table and five drawer dresser, both from Storkcraft. We are really happy with how they look! Now we have all of the big items covered…we are just waiting on our jogger stroller/car seat set to come in, which should be here Monday.
I had a tiny scare this week. I started having some cramping and after talking with some people and researching online, I got nervous that I should get checked. A few people said they ended up being in labor when they were having cramps. So I gave in and called my doctor to make sure everything was okay and that I wasn’t in preterm labor.
Well, fortunately I wasn’t dilated and everything sounded/looked healthy with baby boy on the ultrasound. My doctor said to make sure and drink TONS of water, take it easy when I feel cramps and just to monitor them. It could have just been stretching, dehydration, Braxton hicks contractions, or a combination of them all. He really didn’t have an answer as to exactly why I was experiencing them. I’m just happy to know everything was okay!
Right now, Isaiah is at a point of really just brain development, weight gain, and building up his fetal immune system. He’s just getting bigger and stronger for his big debut!
